Big box braids also known as jumbo boxes, are a distinctive look that suits men with strong style senses. Big box braids tend to be thicker and wider than other types of braids. They are perfect for men who have spent a lot of time growing their hair. These braids can be combined with hair braiding to create a more heavy look. The core of great hair is a healthy scalp. Braids require care just like any other style. You cannot maintain great hair follicles if they extend from a scalp not being cared for properly. The core of healthy hair is the support structure it grows from. This goes for just about any hairstyle, but braids have special needs. If the scalp is damaged, odds are hair problems are not far behind. Ignore its care, and you court some unpleasant consequences. Neither Taoist priests nor Buddhist monks were required to wear the queue by the Qing; they continued to wear their traditional hairstyles, completely shaved heads for Buddhist monks, and long hair in the traditional Chinese topknot for Taoist priests.

However, you don’t need to know all this. Just find a picture of braids you like and talk to a local stylist or braider about it. While box braids are most popular for natural hair and Black men, the trend also work for straight hair and Asian, Hispanic, and white guys. A braid is any flexible material woven together to form a long, interlinked structure. In the case of hair, braiding is a millennia-old art of hair weaving. It spans every culture and time. For as long as people have had hair, they’ve been finding ways to braid it. Different types of braids fall in and out of style, and each braid has different levels of complexity, but they are always in fashion.  With proper care, man-braids will last up to a month. The tighter the man-braids, the more likely they’ll stay in place. Cornrows are one of the longest-lasting braided hairstyles; however, they are more intricate and require more maintenance, so if you want this style, you might want to pay a visit to a professional for braiding.
